Cargus recommendations regarding possible electronic fraud

- Phishing is a cybercrime that can lead to identity theft or financial loss. Surely you have heard about such situations and their effects, sometimes extremely serious. We see together in the following what are the signs of a fraud attempt and how we can prevent it. Cargus, one of the largest players in the courier industry in Romania, draws attention to attempts at electronic fraud (phishing), especially in a period when the number of orders increases. In order to protect themselves from possible unpleasant situations, Cargus recommends that customers pay an increased attention to messages that arrive either through the e-mail account or via SMS, and which use the visual identity of the company.Recommended precautions:
- Check carefully before opening a message or attachment that appears to contain financial information or related to the delivery status of an order;
- Do not open files received by e-mail or sms, unless you know the source;
- Do not respond to e-mails or SMSs threatening you with defamatory information about you and instructing you to transfer money to certain accounts;
- Be careful of e-mails that contain impersonal addressing formulas or grammatical or writing mistakes;
- Make sure your devices have security solutions installed.
We emphasize that we take all necessary measures to protect the Cargus databases so that there are no security breaches. We are constantly concerned about the security of our customers’ devices and the messages and notifications we send to them.
